What Is Death Without Being Saved?

Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:14-15

In order to avoid a second death, I believe in my second birth within Christ.

Lord, enter my heart that I might be part of your kingdom. Live in my heart along with the Holy Spirit, who will guide me on the journey of my life.

The Price To Pay

For the wages of sin is death,
Romans 6:23

Our human nature brings with it a lack for concern of our spirit. Our sins become so much a part of us, so familiar, that they are hard to discern and impossible to avoid.

When are we ready to be healed?

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned
Romans 5:12

Our history includes pain and suffering that is a part of us. We carry it with us along the way. We try to master it. Only the love of God can take away the pain.

The thing we have in common

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Roman 3:23

As I walk along the ancient Roman Road, reflections of my life and perspectives reveal that my transgressions are many and I ask my Lord to forgive what I have done and what I have failed to do.

"There is no life, nowhere"

As it is written:

"There is none righteous, no, not one,
There is none who understand,
There is none who seeks after God"
Romans 3:10-11

Often in our journey the world seems lost. Where do we search for answers? The desires of so many we meet are confusing and self destructive. Why doesn't the search for God and salvation take center place in their lives?

Let my map be Scripture, let me bring the knowledge God has given me to others on my pilgrimage.

Whose Soul Is It Anyway?

“ Behold, all souls are Mine;
The soul of the father
As well as the soul of the son is Mine;
The soul who sins shall die.
Ezekiel 18:4

Walking the pilgrim's path, the people we pass and the people we meet all possess a soul which belongs to God. Each of us brings our soul along for the journey. It is the property of the one God, and yearns to one day go home, back to the love and beauty of the Creator. If we could just see each other this way, we would see with the eyes of our Lord.

Packing Light For The Journey

Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24

Life's journey is weighted down by sin. The nagging issues that seem to haunt our thoughts get in the way of what we truly need to observe and deal with each day. If we ask Christ Jesus to be forgiven, if we confess our sins to Him, this baggage is lifted from our souls. Confession is the best exercise for a healthy, fit soul.

"Come now, and let us reason together", says the Lord.
"Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall be as wool." Isaiah 1:18

The Journey Begins

There is an old adage that the journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. The pilgrim's journey to righteousness and salvation starts in the same way. The first step is the invitation of Christ into our lives as our personal Lord and Saviour.

For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved" Romans 10:13

This idea, this concept of simply seeking in your own heart for the Lord Jesus to enter who you are and empower the relationship is the first step to eternal life.

Be aware that before you ask, that this is a life changing event. It is the seed of the universe, the Creator. It is that first simple footstep in the pilgrim's journey.

The Pilgrim'sPath

This blog is an attempt to provide the needs to journey as a pilgrim, on a journey to discover your meaning and purpose within God's creation. As a pilgrim, you take the staff, sandals, coat and flask and journey out leaving the past behind you. This is a test of the Spirit within you and an opportunity to discover what adventure God has planned for your journey, in the larger sense. Each of us is created with a purpose known by the Creator, and it is the pilgrim who wishes to discover and provide that purposeful witness.
